Equality, Diversity and Accessibility

“We will treat everyone at Barton St Peter’s Church of England Primary School in the way Jesus would have treated them; fairly and with love and compassion. We will celebrate difference and meet the different needs so that all members of our school community are free to live, learn and enjoy”

Barton St Peter’s Church of England Primary School is committed to:

· Tackling discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender identity (gender reassignment and transgender), pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex (gender) or sexual orientation

· Advancing equality of opportunity

· Creating good relations between different groups

At Barton St Peter's, rather than teaching all the protected characteristics in every year group, we ensure that our children are given opportunities to develop age-appropriate knowledge and understanding through a well-planned and delivered curriculum.

We believe that children should be able to recognise themselves and their circumstances so they can see their lived experiences validated and valued.
